The Federal lead hammer is about to drop. Please don’t shoot the messenger! April 22, 2010 is the big day.
On this date and moving forward, all persons and firms working in pre-1978 homes and child-occupied facilities must be certified and use lead-safe work practices during renovations.
The EPA and HUD are behind the new RRP rule and have established accredited training and certification programs for workers, supervisors and inspectors conducting work and evaluation of targeted housing containing lead based paint. Abusers will receive huge fines.
