Licensed: To Be or Not to Be?
To be or not to be licensed is a question many aspiring real estate investors ask. In order to properly answer the question we must know what you’re career objectives and goals are. There are pros and cons; which some of our contributors address this month. As for my wife and I, we decided that as a team she would be a licensed real estate agent and I would remain unlicensed. This has worked for us very well. So decide where you are going with your careers and that will help you determine if you should get a real estate license or not.

Sharon comes back as our REIP “Contributor of the Month” and gives us the “Pros and Cons of Being Licensed as an Investor”. She started as a nervous and reluctant real estate investor so she felt she needed every license out there and got them. Through the years she discovered that the only license she really needed as a real estate investor was her driver’s license. None the less she has kept her real estate license for over 16 years and has discovered how to use it to her advantage.
